Dr. Abena Nyarkoa Asomaning has launched three new books and auctioned a collection of original paintings at a fundraiser titled "In Full Bloom: Art, Words & Legacy" at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. The event was organized to raise funds for the Angel-Zoe Foundation, an organization Dr. Asomaning founded to support incarcerated women and youth. The proceeds will directly facilitate the rehabilitation and reintegration of former inmates, providing them with the necessary resources to rebuild their lives after serving their sentences.
The ceremony was chaired by His Royal Majesty Drolor Bosso Adamtey I, who commended Dr. Asomaning for her long-standing dedication to humanitarian service. He emphasized the importance of societal acceptance in the reintegration process, noting that the support of the community is vital for reducing recidivism. Keynote speaker Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, representing the Ghana Prisons Service, further highlighted the transformative power of creativity and culture as tools for national development and personal reform.
The three books introduced at the event—"Women’s Leadership in Africa," "The Shrewd You," and "Bloom"—draw on Dr. Asomaning’s nearly 20 years of experience working alongside the prison service. During the event, guests viewed short films documenting the success stories of the Angel-Zoe Foundation and participated in book readings. Dr. Asomaning expressed her gratitude to the diplomats and business leaders in attendance, encouraging continued investment in community-building initiatives. All three titles have been made available for purchase on Amazon to support the foundation’s ongoing outreach programs.
