British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a tragic car accident in Ogun State, Nigeria, on December 29, 2025, shortly after returning from a fight in Miami. The accident resulted in the deaths of two friends, Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, who were traveling with him. Reports indicate that Joshua switched from the front to the back seat of the SUV just before the crash, which involved a collision with a stationary truck. The driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has denied charges of dangerous driving, claiming that brake failure caused the accident. He has since been released on bail as investigations continue. Joshua sustained minor injuries and has been discharged from the hospital to mourn the loss of his friends. Eyewitness accounts are being gathered, and official statements from authorities are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
