In a landmark moment for Ghanaian football, winger Antoine Semenyo has made history by signing with Manchester City for £64 million, making him the most expensive Ghanaian player ever. This transfer surpasses the previous records held by notable players like Kudus Mohammed and Thomas Partey. Semenyo has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract and will don the number 42 shirt at City. The club negotiated a final fee of £62.5 million, with additional bonuses payable in installments, reflecting the high expectations placed on Semenyo following this significant investment.
In another significant development in the football world, Chelsea Football Club has appointed Liam Rosenior as their new head coach, marking a historic moment as he becomes the club's first black manager. Rosenior, who previously managed RC Strasbourg, has signed a contract running until 2032. His appointment is seen as a breakthrough for diversity in football management, with former Chelsea player Paul Canoville expressing emotional support for Rosenior's role. He aims to foster teamwork and a winning culture at Chelsea, with high expectations for player development and performance as the club seeks to regain its competitive edge.
