Big Chef Season 5: Contestants Brace for High-Stakes Ampesi Challenge as Eviction Looms

The heat is rising in the kitchen as Big Chef Season Five enters its third episode this Sunday. Young culinary talents are preparing to tackle the "Ampesi Challenge," a test centered on one of Ghana’s most beloved traditional meals. With the competition intensifying, the stakes have never been higher, as two contestants now face the very real possibility of eviction if their culinary execution fails to meet the judges' rigorous standards. The episode is scheduled to air this Sunday at 4:00 pm on Joy Prime.

The upcoming episode follows a dramatic turn of events in the previous "Gari Fotor Challenge." During that round, Setthlyne distinguished herself with exceptional skill, earning the coveted title of Star Chef of the Day. Conversely, the pressure proved too much for contestants Yayra and Michael, who found themselves in the bottom two. While host Michelle Agyekum ultimately intervened to save Yayra from elimination, the reprieve has only served to heighten the competitive atmosphere as the remaining chefs realize that past safety offers little protection against future mistakes.

This week, the focus shifts to the technical art of preparing Ampesi. Judges Chef Michael and Chef Gigi will be looking for more than just basic cooking skills; they will evaluate contestants on their flavor profiles, presentation, and technical mastery of the dish. For the young chefs, successfully elevating a traditional staple like Ampesi requires a delicate balance of respect for heritage and modern culinary flair. A single error in seasoning or a lack of cohesion on the plate could result in a double eviction, significantly narrowing the field of competitors.

Beyond the main competition, fans can follow the contestants' personal journeys and behind-the-scenes moments on the "JP Diaries," which airs every Tuesday at 5:00 pm. As the season progresses, the "Ampesi Challenge" serves as a critical junction that will determine which of these aspiring chefs possesses the resilience and creativity necessary to remain in the hunt for the title. With the looming threat of elimination for two participants, this Sunday’s episode marks a pivotal moment in the fifth season of the popular reality show.
