Cambridge University Rugby League Team Embarks on Landmark Developmental Tour of Ghana

The Cambridge University Rugby League team has arrived in Accra for a historic week-long tour designed to strengthen international sporting relations and accelerate the development of rugby league across West Africa. Arriving on Monday, the squad is engaging in a comprehensive itinerary that combines high-level competition with grassroots development. This landmark visit, organized by the Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG), highlights the country’s growing reputation as an emerging hub for international university-level rugby league.

During their stay, the Cambridge squad is scheduled to play three marquee matches at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium. The competitive fixture list begins with a clash against the University of Ghana team, followed by a game against the President’s XIII. The tour will culminate in a highly anticipated match against the Ghana Leopards, the national rugby league team. These fixtures are intended not only to test the local talent against international opposition but also to provide a platform for Ghanaian players to showcase their skills on a larger stage.
