Eagle Star Enterprise Limited, the construction firm tasked with the Dambai–Nkwanta road project, has called on the public to strictly adhere to road safety protocols as work on the stretch progresses. The company’s Public Relations Officer, Madam Celestina Damoah, emphasized that the cooperation of motorists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians is essential to ensure the safety of both road users and the construction crew. This appeal comes as the project enters a critical phase, requiring increased vigilance within the construction zones.
Madam Damoah urged all road users to exercise patience and follow the directions of traffic wardens and temporary signage. She noted that the successful and timely completion of the project depends heavily on a harmonious relationship between the project team and the traveling public. By respecting safety boundaries and maintaining moderate speeds near work areas, the community can help prevent accidents and minimize the logistical disruptions typically associated with large-scale infrastructure developments.
In addition to safety concerns, the company is seeking the active involvement of community leaders and local stakeholders to protect construction equipment and materials. Madam Damoah highlighted that the security of these assets is vital for preventing project delays. She encouraged residents to take ownership of the development by reporting any activities that could jeopardize the equipment, noting that such cooperation is a cornerstone of the successful execution of the government’s ‘Big Push’ infrastructure agenda.
The Dambai–Nkwanta road project is a key component of a broader effort to improve regional connectivity and stimulate economic activity in the area. Once finished, the upgraded road is expected to significantly enhance the movement of goods and services, providing long-term benefits to local traders and commuters. Madam Damoah expressed optimism that with continued community support, the project will be delivered on schedule to the benefit of the Oti Region.
