The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled three-day power interruption in parts of the Accra West Region, beginning Monday, October 12, 2026. According to the utility provider, the outages are necessary to facilitate essential maintenance work on the distribution network. The daily interruptions are slated to occur from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., concluding on Wednesday, October 14.
The maintenance exercise will be carried out in phases, affecting different neighborhoods each day. On Monday, October 12, power will be cut in the Mile 7 Estates area and the vicinity of the Caledonia Hotel. On Tuesday, October 13, the exercise will shift to Ameriya Last Stop and its surrounding portions. The three-day project will wrap up on Wednesday, October 14, with outages planned for Tabora Nos. 3, 4, 5, and surrounding communities.
ECG has formally apologized for the inconvenience these planned outages may cause to residents and businesses in the affected areas. The company urged customers to take note of the schedule to minimize disruptions to their daily routines and to ensure that electrical appliances are properly managed during the maintenance window. These scheduled works are part of the company's broader strategy to enhance infrastructure reliability and prevent unplanned power outages in the capital.
