EMY Africa schedules 11th awards ceremony for November 21 in Accra

The 11th edition of the EMY Africa Awards is scheduled to take place on November 21, 2026, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre. This prestigious ceremony returns to the Ghanaian capital following a successful series of international promotional engagements in Washington, D.C., and London. As one of the continent's most recognized honors programs, the event continues its mission of celebrating leadership and excellence across diverse sectors of African society.

In a significant adjustment to the event's proceedings, organizers have announced a revised format for the 2026 ceremony. This year, honorary awards will be presented during the opening segment of the show. The decision to lead with these accolades is designed to immediately spotlight the most influential contributions to African society, ensuring that the achievements of these distinguished individuals receive maximum visibility and recognition throughout the night.

The main event will be preceded by the traditional Man of the Year (MOTY) Party, which is set for November 8, 2026, at the Labadi Beach Hotel. This year’s pre-award celebration will follow a “Denim & Spice” theme, offering a more relaxed atmosphere for nominees, industry leaders, and guests to interact. The MOTY Party serves as a vital networking component of the EMY Africa season, fostering collaborations and community building ahead of the gala night.

Beyond the accolades, the EMY Africa Awards aim to create a lasting impact by connecting high-achievers and providing a platform for mentorship and regional growth. By showcasing success stories from across the continent, the organizers hope to inspire a new generation of African leaders. As the November dates approach, the event is expected to draw a wide array of attendees from the business, creative, and philanthropic sectors, further solidifying its role as a premier celebration of African achievement.
