GBC Lifestyle TV Launches ‘Volti Vibes 2026’ to Boost Domestic Tourism in Volta and Oti Regions

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has officially unveiled "TRekGh 2026 – Volti Vibes," a flagship experiential tourism initiative designed to showcase the diverse attractions of Ghana’s Volta and Oti Regions. Scheduled to take place from October 29 to November 1, 2026, the four-day road trip aims to deepen the appreciation of domestic tourism among Ghanaians and international visitors alike. By blending adventure with cultural discovery, GBC’s Lifestyle TV seeks to provide a platform for travelers to explore the country's varied landscapes and heritage sites beyond the traditional metropolitan hubs.

The journey is set to be a deeply immersive experience, taking participants through a curated series of iconic and off-the-beaten-path locations. Itinerary highlights include visits to majestic waterfalls, mountain ranges, and vibrant cultural communities. Beyond mere sightseeing, the program emphasizes direct engagement with local residents, offering patrons a unique opportunity to witness traditional crafts and participate in the rich heritage of the target regions. This "Volti Vibes" edition of the TRekGh series is specifically designed as a comprehensive blend of adventure, culture, and entertainment.

According to George Lomotey, GBC’s Acting Director of Marketing, the initiative is a strategic effort to highlight the untapped tourism potential of the Volta and Oti Regions while providing a high-quality leisure experience for patrons. To ensure an intimate and manageable group dynamic, participation is strictly limited to 50 patrons. The expedition will commence in Accra and culminate in a grand finale on November 1, 2026. The cost for the all-inclusive four-day journey is set at GH3,499 per person, which covers the curated travel experience, accommodation, and guided community tours.

As Ghana continues to position itself as a premier destination for heritage and adventure tourism, initiatives like TRekGh 2026 play a crucial role in decentralizing tourism activities and supporting regional economies. By focusing on the Volta and Oti Regions, GBC is not only promoting local businesses and traditional artisans but also encouraging a culture of exploration within the Ghanaian populace. Interested participants are urged to secure their spots early, as the state broadcaster anticipates high demand for this exclusive limited-entry cultural odyssey.
