Kobby Kyei, Gifty Afriyie, and Dapper Group CEO Break Silence on Viral Scandals and Professional Disputes

In a series of high-profile clarifications, prominent figures across the West African entertainment landscape have moved to address viral rumors and professional disputes. Ghanaian media personality Kobby Kyei and Gifty Afriyie, wife of actor Oteele, have provided new insights into their personal lives, while Nigerian music executive Damilola "Dapper" Akinwunmi and content creator Jarvis have responded to financial and contractual allegations. These public statements come at a time when digital platforms increasingly serve as the primary arena for celebrities to manage their reputations and confront speculation directly.

On the domestic front, Kobby Kyei firmly debunked long-standing rumors of a romantic entanglement with actress and media icon Nana Ama McBrown. During a recent interview, Kyei expressed surprise and humility regarding the speculation, asserting that their bond has remained strictly professional despite their close working relationship. Simultaneously, Gifty Afriyie, the wife of Kumawood actor Oteele, addressed a more scandalous development involving a leaked tape featuring her husband. Speaking on a TikTok livestream, Afriyie revealed that she was aware of her husband’s involvement with the woman in question long before the footage became public, noting that she had even hinted at the issue during a prior interview with celebrity blogger Zionfelix.

Beyond Ghana’s borders, the Nigerian music industry is grappling with transparency challenges as Dapper Group CEO Damilola Akinwunmi responds to allegations from former signees Seyi Vibez and Shallipopi. Dapper has publicly challenged the artists to submit their contracts and financial records for forensic auditing to resolve disputes over music catalogues and alleged debts, stating he has "nothing to hide." Meanwhile, Nigerian content creator Jarvis clarified the financial dynamics of her relationship with fellow creator Peller. Jarvis explained that her frequent requests for financial support are intended to help her partner recognize his responsibilities, emphasizing her own financial independence and strength amid persistent rumors concerning pregnancy.

These developments highlight a growing trend where entertainment figures utilize direct-to-audience communication to navigate the complexities of fame and professional accountability. Whether through forensic audits in the boardroom or candid livestreams from the home, these personalities are attempting to reclaim narratives that were previously dominated by gossip and social media speculation. As these stories continue to unfold, the emphasis on transparency and documentation remains a central theme in resolving both personal grievances and corporate disagreements in the limelight.
