Ahmed Ibrahim drives infrastructure expansion in Banda-Ahenkro

Member of Parliament for Banda, Ahmed Ibrahim, is spearheading a series of infrastructure developments in Banda-Ahenkro to accelerate socio-economic growth and transform the district capital into a premier tourism hub. The Bono Region town is currently undergoing a significant facelift through targeted investments in public services and essential facilities. These projects, which span the health, education, and security sectors, are designed to address long-standing service gaps and create a more conducive environment for residents and visitors alike. The ongoing transformation includes the construction of a modern social and recreational center and specialized sports facilities aimed at nurturing local talent. Ahmed Ibrahim emphasized that these developments are central to unlocking the potential of the youth by providing spaces for skills training and athletic engagement. In addition to recreational spaces, the district has seen a substantial boost in educational infrastructure, ensuring that students have access to better learning environments. Security services are also being bolstered to support the anticipated increase in economic activity and tourism. Local officials and community leaders have welcomed the projects, though they have also underscored the critical need for regular maintenance to ensure the longevity of the new facilities. Residents of Banda-Ahenkro have expressed gratitude for the initiatives, noting that the improved access to services is already creating new opportunities for trade and social interaction. By positioning the district as a destination for tourism and recreation, the leadership aims to diversify the local economy and reduce reliance on traditional sectors. As the projects approach completion, the focus is expected to shift toward the sustainable management of these assets. The Member of Parliament’s vision for Banda-Ahenkro reflects a broader effort to decentralize development and bring modern amenities to rural district capitals. This infrastructure drive is seen as a foundational step in making the Banda District more competitive within the Bono Region and ensuring that the local population benefits from the dividends of urban expansion and improved public service delivery.
