Nana Dokua Amponsah III calls for balanced development in Shai-Osudoku

Nana Dokua Amponsah III, the Paramount Queenmother of the Osudoku Traditional Area, has called on the government to address the developmental imbalance within the Shai-Osudoku District. Speaking on the current state of infrastructure, the Queenmother emphasized that while the district as a whole has seen some growth, the benefits have been unevenly distributed, predominantly favoring Dodowa. She urged the authorities to ensure that Osudoku receives its fair share of national resources to foster holistic growth across the region.

Central to her appeal is the urgent need for improved road networks, particularly in agricultural hubs such as Asutsuare and Tsopoli. Nana Dokua Amponsah III pointed out that the current state of the roads serves as a major bottleneck to the area's economic potential. As a vital food basket for the Greater Accra Region, Osudoku's agricultural output is significant, yet the difficulty in transporting goods to market remains a persistent challenge for local farmers and traders.

The Queenmother further noted that enhanced infrastructure is essential to attracting private sector investment to the area. She argued that better roads would not only facilitate the movement of agricultural produce but also encourage businesses to set up operations in Osudoku, thereby creating jobs for the youth. By focusing development efforts solely on the district capital, Dodowa, she warned that other productive areas are being left behind, hindering the overall economic progress of the district.

In her concluding remarks, Nana Dokua Amponsah III called for immediate government intervention to rehabilitate deteriorating roads and provide other essential amenities. She stressed that balanced development is not just a matter of fairness but a strategic necessity to maximize the district's contribution to the national economy. The Queenmother's plea serves as a reminder to policymakers that rural and agricultural communities require targeted infrastructure support to thrive and sustain their roles in the national food supply chain.
