Shatta Wale donates GH₵20,000 to family of late police officer Prince Adu

Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has donated GH₵20,000 to the family of Prince Adu, a police officer who died in a motor accident while traveling to provide security for the ShattaFest 2026 concert. The unfortunate incident occurred while the officer was en route to the venue in Accra, where he was assigned to ensure the safety of patrons at one of the country's largest annual music festivals. A delegation representing the musician visited the bereaved family at their residence in Accra to offer their sympathies and deliver the financial support. According to members of Shatta Wale’s team, the donation is aimed at providing immediate relief to the family and contributing toward the upkeep and future education of the late officer's children. The team conveyed the artiste's personal grief over the tragedy, noting that the loss of an officer dedicated to the safety of the entertainment industry is a blow to the entire creative community. The gesture has drawn attention to the collaborative relationship between the entertainment industry and the Ghana Police Service, particularly during major festive seasons. Security remains a critical component of high-profile events like ShattaFest, and the death of Officer Adu serves as a somber reminder of the sacrifices made by personnel in the line of duty. By reaching out to the family, Shatta Wale joins a growing list of public figures using their platform to support the families of fallen service members.
