Oswal Investment Limited Pledges December 2026 Opening for First Lane of Dodowa-Afienya Road

Oswal Investment Limited has committed to opening the first lane of the Dodowa-Afienya-Dawhenya road reconstruction project by December 2026. This strategic milestone is designed to provide immediate relief to commuters by diverting traffic away from the current dusty and deteriorated road surface. Roads and Highways Minister, Governs Kwame Agbodza, recently conducted an inspection of the site to evaluate progress, emphasizing the government's commitment to improving regional transport links.

The reconstruction project, which spans 20.8 kilometers of asphalt road and includes the construction of a significant bridge, is currently reported to be 62% complete. By finishing the first lane from Dodowa Junction to Afienya Junction by the end of the year, the contractor aims to alleviate the severe traffic congestion and health hazards posed by the existing conditions. Once traffic is successfully transitioned to the new asphalt lane, work will immediately commence on the second lane, ensuring continuous momentum toward full project delivery.

Minister Agbodza expressed satisfaction with the quality of workmanship demonstrated by the contractor during his inspection. To mark the progress of this critical infrastructure, plans are being finalized for President John Dramani Mahama to officially commission the completed first lane. While this partial opening marks a significant victory for the local community and motorists, the entire Dodowa-Afienya-Dawhenya road network is scheduled for final completion in December 2027, promising a total transformation of the corridor.
