The announcement was made during a launch ceremony held in Accra on October 18, 2026, under the theme "Honoring Greatness, Celebrating True Excellence." This year's awards seek to highlight the significant impact and progress of gospel music within Ghana and among its diaspora, recognizing the contributions of both veteran artists and emerging talents.

Following the unveiling of the nomination list, organisers have established a specific window for petitions regarding the selections. Stakeholders and artists have from October 19 to October 23, 2026, to submit any concerns or corrections before the list is finalised. This process is intended to maintain the integrity and transparency of the awards as the industry prepares for the main ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on December 13, 2026.

As the fifth anniversary approaches, the organisers have issued a call to corporate bodies and brands to partner with the event through sponsorship.
