Direct selling company QNET has intensified its collaboration with law enforcement agencies, including Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and INTERPOL, to crack down on fraudulent schemes that exploit the company’s name. Speaking at the VCON Malaysia 2026 Media Webinar, the company highlighted its proactive stance in protecting the public from employment scams and other criminal activities that target vulnerable job seekers across the West African region.
Cherif Sarr, QNET’s Regional General Manager for West and Central Africa, detailed the company’s specific interventions, revealing that the partnership with EOCO has already provided critical assistance to more than 300 victims of fake recruitment drives. These scams often involve unscrupulous individuals who trick victims into paying significant fees for non-existent jobs while falsely claiming an association with QNET. To further institutionalise its anti-fraud efforts, the company has officially joined the UNODC–INTERPOL Global Partnership Framework Against Fraud, which facilitates information sharing and strategy development among global law enforcement entities.
In addition to legal action, QNET is focusing on transparency and public education to reclaim its brand identity from criminal exploitation. During the webinar, social media influencers who visited the firm’s headquarters shared their experiences, noting that they received clear and satisfactory explanations regarding the company’s business operations. Moving forward, QNET intends to continue working with Ghanaian authorities to ensure that its legitimate direct-selling model is not misused by scammers, while providing the public with the tools necessary to identify and report fraudulent activities.
