Rashid Metal Reveals Management Dishonesty and Breach of Contract Led to Music Hiatus
•2 min read•1 source
Ghanaian musician Rashid Metal has publicly addressed the reasons behind his recent hiatus from the music industry, pointing to significant internal friction with his former management team as the primary cause. In a candid interview, the artist revealed that a combination of broken promises and a lack of transparency forced him to step away from his professional career to re-evaluate his path forward. This disclosure provides insight into the private struggles that often occur behind the scenes of the Ghanaian music scene. Speaking on Asempa FM, Rashid Metal detailed how his career trajectory diverged significantly from the vision he had initially agreed upon with his handlers. He specifically cited a breach of contract and a fundamental lack of truthfulness as the major factors that derailed his progress. According to the musician, his plans were not unfolding as expected under the previous management structure, leading to a sense of stagnation that eventually made his continued participation in the industry untenable at that time. The artist emphasized that the dishonesty he encountered was not merely a minor disagreement but a systemic issue that affected his trust in the partnership. He expressed that when a manager is not truthful, it compromises the artist's brand and future potential. This period of reflection and his subsequent break were necessary to protect his integrity and to ensure that his future projects are handled by individuals who respect the contractual and ethical bounds of the industry. While Rashid Metal has not yet announced a definitive date for his return to the music scene, his willingness to speak out serves as a cautionary tale for other up-and-coming Ghanaian artists regarding the importance of choosing the right management. His experience underscores the broader need for professionalism and accountability within the local entertainment sector. As the nation looks forward under the current administration of President John Mahama, stakeholders in the creative arts sector continue to advocate for more robust legal frameworks to prevent such career-stalling disputes.
