Jonathan Abdallah Salifu, a candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Upper East Regional Secretary position, has committed to a comprehensive modernization of the party’s regional secretariat. Speaking ahead of the upcoming regional executive elections, Salifu articulated a vision focused on enhancing administrative efficiency and strengthening organizational structures to better serve the party’s grassroots and leadership.
During an interview on Dreamz FM on October 19, 2026, Salifu reflected on his over two decades of political service, which began at the branch executive level. He highlighted his previous tenure as the party’s Regional Communication Officer, where he established a robust communication framework for the region. Leveraging this experience, he now seeks to apply a similar transformative approach to the broader regional administration, emphasizing that his deep-rooted understanding of party dynamics makes him uniquely qualified for the secretariat role.
A core component of Salifu’s platform is the physical and technological upgrade of NDC offices throughout the region. He pledged to give the regional secretariat a significant facelift while simultaneously addressing infrastructure and equipment deficits in various constituency offices. This plan is designed to ensure that the party remains competitive and operationally sound by modernizing office workflows and support systems for local organizers.
As the NDC prepares for its regional executive elections scheduled for November 16, 2026, Salifu’s campaign has focused on his track record of institutional development. He is listed as Number 1 on the ballot for the regional secretary position. The upcoming vote is considered a critical milestone for the party in the Upper East Region as it seeks to solidify its administrative foundations for future electoral cycles.
