Samartex's Strategy Disrupted by Early Mistake in Loss to Hearts of Oak

Nebojsa Kapor warns Hearts of Oak against complacency in Holy Stars clash

Nebojsa Kapor, the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, has issued a stern warning to his players regarding complacency as they prepare for their Ghana Premier League clash against Basake Holy Stars. The Phobians are set to host the encounter on October 23 at the University of Ghana Stadium, and Kapor is eager to maintain the team's upward trajectory following a positive run of form. The Phobians enter the match with significant momentum, having secured victories in their last two league outings. This recent success has revitalized the squad and its supporters, but Kapor is wary of the psychological pitfalls that often accompany winning streaks. He emphasized that the Ghana Premier League is highly competitive and that current form or league positions offer no guarantees of future success. While Basake Holy Stars have seen mixed results recently, the coach remains cautious about their ability to cause an upset if Hearts does not perform at its peak. Central to Kapor’s message is the need for mental toughness and unwavering discipline. He stated that every fixture in the top flight requires a professional approach, regardless of the opponent's pedigree. The coach’s tactical preparations have focused on ensuring that the team remains grounded and focused on the task at hand. By highlighting the "difficult" nature of the upcoming encounter, Kapor hopes to sharpen his players' focus and avoid the trap of underestimating a side that is equally hungry for points. The fixture at Legon represents a critical opportunity for Hearts of Oak to solidify their standing in the 2026/27 season. A third consecutive win would significantly enhance their title aspirations and provide further proof of the team's progress under Kapor’s leadership. Fans are expected to turn out in numbers at the University of Ghana Stadium to support the team as they look to overcome the challenge posed by the Holy Stars and continue their climb toward the top of the table.
