Stephen Amankona Braces Aduana FC for Dramatic 2-1 Comeback Victory Against Swedru All Blacks

Aduana FC continued their resurgence in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League with a hard-fought 2-1 comeback victory over a ten-man Swedru All Blacks side at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa. Captain Stephen Amankona was the undisputed hero of the Matchweek 5 encounter, scoring both goals to overturn an early 1-0 deficit. This victory marks the third consecutive win for the 'Ogya' Boys, propelling them to fourth place on the league table with a total of 10 points. However, the match was not without significant drama and concern, as it featured a medical emergency on the pitch and a contentious officiating decision in the closing stages.

The game took a distressing turn when Aduana FC right-back Remember Adomako Boateng collapsed during play. The defender received immediate attention from medical personnel on-site and was rushed for further treatment. The club has since confirmed that Boateng has regained consciousness and is responding well to medical care, though they have requested privacy for the player during his recovery process. On the field, the technical battle intensified as Swedru All Blacks were reduced to ten men, yet they managed to maintain a 1-1 deadlock until late in the second half. The stalemate was eventually broken when the referee awarded Aduana FC a penalty for a handball in the box, a decision that has sparked heated debate among fans and pundits alike.

In recognition of his pivotal role in the comeback, Stephen Amankona was named the NASCO Man of the Match, receiving a 32-inch television from Electroland Ghana Limited. Amankona was one of nine players across the league to be honored for their Week 5 performances, joining the likes of Joseph Amoah of Asante Kotoko, Kofi Junior Kumah of Dreams FC, and Francis Asante of Basake Holy Stars. As the Ghana Premier League season gathers momentum, Aduana FC will look to maintain their winning streak in their next fixture against Young Apostles, scheduled for October 11, while Swedru All Blacks will seek to bounce back from the narrow defeat and the disciplinary setback of the red card.
