The Western Gospel Awards (WGA) is scheduled to hold its sixth edition on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. Organized by Prolific GH in partnership with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), the awards ceremony serves as a dedicated platform to honor gospel musicians and industry stakeholders who have contributed to the advancement of the genre within the Western Region and beyond.
The upcoming event will showcase performances from several high-profile gospel artists, including Akesse Brimpong, Kofi Karikari, Esther Godwyll, and Yvonne Menz. The organizers have also included South African singer Deborah McKay in the lineup, highlighting an effort to incorporate international perspectives into the regional celebration. These performances are intended to celebrate the creative diversity and spiritual impact of gospel music in the current landscape.
The evening's program will start with a Blue Carpet event at 5 p.m., offering a space for media interactions and public appearances before the official ceremony begins at 7 p.m. By providing this recognition, Prolific GH and MUSIGA aim to encourage continued growth and professional excellence within the gospel music community, ensuring that practitioners in the Western Region receive the visibility their work deserves.
