Joseph Yammin, the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has officially filed his nomination to seek a second term in the party’s upcoming national executive elections. During a press conference held on Monday, October 21, 2026, Yammin confirmed that he had successfully completed the nomination process, including the payment of all required fees. His re-election bid is part of a broader internal reorganization as the governing NDC prepares to select the leadership that will steer the party through its next phase.
Yammin expressed confidence in his record and his readiness to contest against any challengers for the National Organiser position. He indicated that his campaign strategy would be finalized once the full list of contestants was confirmed following the 5 p.m. deadline on the day of filing. He was joined in the nomination process by Mustapha Gbande, the NDC’s Deputy General Secretary, who is also seeking to retain his executive role. Both officials emphasized their commitment to the party's organizational strength ahead of the national elections scheduled for December 19, 2026.
While filing their forms, the two party executives highlighted the achievements of President John Mahama’s administration, which took office in January 2025. They utilized the "Campaign Trail" event to contrast the current government’s performance with that of the previous Nana Akufo-Addo administration, arguing that the NDC’s leadership is essential for continued national progress. The outcome of these internal polls is seen as a critical step in consolidating the party’s structure under President Mahama’s current tenure.
